Who is St. Peter?

St. Peter's real name was Simon, and he was a fisherman. Jesus called him and said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Peter loved Jesus but sometimes made mistakes — once he even denied knowing Jesus. When Peter was sorry, Jesus forgave him. Jesus made Peter the leader of His apostles and the first Pope of the Church. Peter became very strong in faith and taught many people about Jesus' love.

What We Learn:

  • Jesus forgives us when we are sorry.
  • We can always start again and follow Jesus.
  • Like Peter, we can be strong and faithful.

Simple Prayer:

Lord Jesus,
Thank You for loving and forgiving me,
Like You loved St. Peter.
Help me to be faithful and kind always.
Amen.
