Saint Thomas (St. Thomas the Apostle)
Bible Reference
The story of "Doubting Thomas" who believed
when he saw Jesus after the Resurrection.
John 20:24-29
Who is St. Thomas?
St. Thomas was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus. He loved Jesus deeply but found it hard to believe what he could not see. When Jesus appeared to His apostles after rising from the dead, Thomas was not with them. Later, when Jesus appeared again, He asked Thomas to touch His wounds. Then Thomas believed and said joyfully, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28). St. Thomas travelled far and wide to tell people about Jesus and brought the Good News to India. He is lovingly known as the Apostle of India.
What We Learn:
- We should believe in Jesus even when we cannot see Him.
- Jesus helps us to grow strong in faith.
Simple Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
Help me to believe in You always,
Like St. Thomas who said, "My Lord and my God."
Make me brave to share Your love with everyone.
Amen.
