Stories about St. Stephen, the first follower of Jesus who gave his life for his faith.

Who is St. Stephen?

St. Stephen was one of the first followers of Jesus. He was chosen by the Apostles to help the poor and take care of the people. Stephen was full of faith, kindness, and the Holy Spirit. He loved Jesus very much and spoke bravely about Him.

Some people did not like what Stephen said about Jesus and made false stories against him. They brought him to the leaders. Even then, Stephen’s face looked like an angel’s because he trusted in God. When people threw stones at him, he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit,” and “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”

Stephen forgave everyone who hurt him. He became the first Christian to die for his faith in Jesus.
